Freedom Fighters

Many people gathered to protest against the Chinese Communist Party's abuse of Human Rights. An international campaign, The Human Rights Torch Relay, was held at Freedom Plaza on Sunday, April 6 in Washington, DC. People who gathered and the HRTR event team in DC are seeking to end suffering. Tibet, Nubia, and Falun Gong, the most severely persecuted group in China, are some of highlighted issues of today's Chinese human rights abuses. Its founding premise is "The Olympics and crimes against humanity cannot co-exist in China."

This is a serious issue. To be honest I didn't know so much about Falun Gong until the protest. I learned that the CCP persecutes the Falun Gong practitioners and their families. Some are murdered, some enslaved, and some victims of organ harvesting. During the protest I met two wonderful Tibetan Buddhist monks who live in Baltimore. If it had been possible, the Summer 2008 Olympic should not have been planned for Beijing.
